Uma mãe que foi de férias para Ibiza em vez de comparecer à audiência de sentença do filho por seu papel nos tumultos foi condenada a pagar uma indenização.
Seu filho de 12 anos teria demonstrado o “pior tipo de comportamento selvagem” durante dois episódios separados de desordem em Manchester, em 31 de julho e 3 de agosto.
A mãe foi condenada a pagar uma indemnização de 1200 libras – aproximadamente o mesmo preço das suas férias – e recebeu uma ordem parental.
O menino, que não pode ser identificado devido à sua idade, recebeu uma ordem de prisão de 12 meses e foi informado de que, se fosse adulto, poderia ter sido enviado para a prisão por um período entre quatro e cinco anos.
A juíza distrital Joanne Hirst disse ao jovem no Tribunal de Magistrados de Manchester que ele havia demonstrado “o pior tipo de comportamento selvagem”.
O menino admitiu dois episódios distintos de desordem, o primeiro quando ele fez parte de uma multidão que atacou um ônibus do lado de fora de um hotel que abrigava requerentes de asilo em Manchester, em 31 de julho.
Poucos dias depois, ele fez parte de um grupo filmado chutando as janelas de uma loja de cigarros eletrônicos e jogando um míssil em uma van da polícia.
Sua mãe foi condenada a pagar indenização a quatro pessoas que prestaram depoimento ao tribunal.
Desordem generalizada eclodiu em cidades por todo o Reino Unido em julho e agosto após o ataque com faca em Southport, no qual três meninas foram mortas.
