O novato dos Raiders, Dylan Laube, está perfeitamente bem esperando sua oportunidade de entrar em campo.
O running back está acostumado com isso.
Laube, que ficou inativo nos dois primeiros jogos dos Raiders, não foi titular logo de cara no ensino médio. Ele ficou de fora do primeiro ano de faculdade em New Hampshire depois de receber apenas uma oferta de bolsa de estudos.
“Durante toda a minha carreira, sempre tive que me adaptar e esperar”, disse Laube. “Temos tantos bons jogadores aqui. Sei que terei minha chance, mas, ao mesmo tempo, apenas poder sentar e aprender o programa e a cultura é super importante. É uma grande oportunidade para mim.”
Laube recebeu ótimas críticas por seu trabalho na offseason e estava tendo muitas repetições durante o training camp.
A escolha da sexta rodada entrou para a lista de 53 jogadores, mas ainda está esperando sua primeira chance de entrar em campo. Não é uma situação incomum para um novato.
“Há casos especiais como (o tight end) Brock (Bowers) onde você pode simplesmente jogá-los lá e eles podem ser incríveis imediatamente, mas é ótimo para mim aprender”, disse Laube. “Você tem (caras como os running backs Ameer Abduallah e Alexander Mattison) e todos esses veteranos com quem você pode aprender. Eu acredito que para mim é a melhor coisa.”
Ainda assim, Laube sabe que sua chance pode surgir a qualquer momento.
“É uma temporada longa, então quem sabe?”, disse Laube. “Mas estou bem sendo paciente. … Estar na linha lateral e ver a velocidade do jogo e ser capaz de ver o jogo através dos olhos deles um pouco e absorver tudo isso é muito valioso.”
Laube disse que conversa com os outros running backs dos Raiders durante o jogo para oferecer incentivo e obter qualquer informação que puder.
O candidato a jogador de uma escola pequena também está apenas curtindo a experiência de fazer parte de um time da NFL.
“É tão louco”, disse Laube. “Não acho que realmente tenha dado um passo para trás para apreciar isso. Sei que é meu trabalho, mas estou tocando como se tivesse 5 anos. É definitivamente uma coisa surreal.”
Empilhando números e destaques
A estrela dos Raiders, Davante Adams, que tem 14 recepções para 169 jardas em dois jogos, continua a subir no livro de recordes da NFL.
E há alguns marcos que o wide receiver de 31 anos pode atingir em breve.
Adams, com outra temporada de 100 recepções, se tornaria o terceiro jogador na história da liga a realizar o feito seis vezes na carreira. Ele se tornaria o segundo a fazê-lo em cinco campanhas seguidas.
Ele também precisa de mais um jogo com pelo menos 10 recepções para ultrapassar Antonio Brown e atingir o maior número na história da NFL, com 24. Adams precisa de mais três jogos com 10 recepções e 100 jardas para ultrapassar o total de 21 de Andre Johnson.
Ainda assim, Adams não se deixa levar muito por suas próprias realizações. Mesmo quando algumas de suas jogadas, como sua espetacular recepção na lateral contra os Ravens em 15 de setembro, viralizam nas redes sociais.

“Eu não assisto muito porque continua a mesma coisa quando você assiste pela 20ª vez”, disse Adams. “Eu não gosto de viver nos meus sucessos, mas é sempre divertido receber (um clipe) como esse, que você recebe dos seus amigos e de todo mundo. Para nós, fazemos capturas onde estamos mergulhando no chão o dia todo no treino, eles não conseguem ver a maioria das coisas. Você vai lá e tem, talvez de cinco a 10 oportunidades de mostrar às pessoas, mas é um pouco mais rotineiro do que as pessoas podem pensar.”
Relatório de lesão
O ala defensivo dos Raiders, Maxx Crosby (tornozelo), foi listado como participante limitado no treino de quinta-feira.
O tornozelo esquerdo de Crosby parecia estar fortemente enfaixado com algum tipo de suporte, mas ele se moveu bem na parte do treino aberta à mídia. Ele também andou normalmente sem proteção no tornozelo no vestiário após o treino.
O linebacker Divine Deablo (oblíquo/concussão) e o cornerback Decamerion Richardson (posterior da coxa) permaneceram fora na quinta-feira. O linebacker Tommy Eichenberg (joelho) e o safety Chris Smith II (joelho) foram participantes completos.
Dois jogadores de linha ofensiva titulares, Kolton Miller (ombro) e Dylan Parham (pé), foram limitados na quinta-feira, mas parecem estar a caminho de jogar no domingo contra os Panthers. O mesmo vale para o jogador de linha defensiva Christian Wilkins (joelho), outro participante limitado.
O defensive end Tyree Wilson (joelho) foi limitado na quarta e quinta-feira após ficar de fora contra os Ravens. O defensive end Janarius Robinson (mão) foi uma nova adição ao relatório de lesões na quinta-feira, embora tenha treinado integralmente.
