O técnico do Manchester United, Erik ten Hag, foi demitido Cristiano Ronaldo‘s últimas críticas e diz que o barulho externo ao redor do clube não o incomoda.
Em entrevista ao ex-companheiro de equipe do United, Rio Ferdinand, em um podcast, Ronaldo disse que Ten Hag errou ao dizer em uma entrevista de pré-temporada no país natal do técnico, a Holanda, que o clube estava “muito longe” de vencer a Premier League pela primeira vez desde 2013.
Embora Ronaldo tenha dito que também achava que seu antigo clube não conseguiria vencer o campeonato, ele sentiu que, como técnico, Ten Hag estava enviando a mensagem errada.
Questionado sobre os comentários do veterano atacante antes da viagem de sábado a Southampton, Ten Hag disse que Ronaldo havia dito a mesma coisa.
“Não, ele disse isso, se você leu o artigo com atenção”, disse Ten Hag.
“Ele tem direito à sua opinião. Tudo bem. Ele está longe, na Arábia Saudita, longe de Manchester.”
Após derrotas consecutivas para Brighton e Liverpool, o United vai para Southampton sabendo que a derrota os condenará ao pior começo desde 1986-87, quando Ron Atkinson foi demitido e substituído por Sir Alex Ferguson.
Ten Hag confirmou que o lateral Luke Shaw, que não atuou pelo seu clube nesta temporada apesar de ter feito três aparições pela Inglaterra durante a Euro 2024, ainda não está disponível.
O atacante Rasmus Hojlund também perderá o jogo enquanto continua sua recuperação de uma lesão no tendão sofrida durante a turnê de verão pelos Estados Unidos.
O novo contratado Manuel Ugarte está em forma, embora o meio-campista uruguaio de £ 50,2 milhões só tenha retornado de suas seleções na quinta-feira.
A pausa de duas semanas desde a derrota para o Liverpool fez com que o futuro de Ten Hag fosse amplamente discutido.

Ten Hag, que voltou para casa para assumir o comando do antigo clube FC Utrecht em um jogo beneficente no início desta semana, disse que o “barulho” externo não o incomoda.
“Não me afeta”, ele disse. “Sei onde estamos no processo, o que temos que fazer e para onde estamos indo.
“Eu disse antes que ainda estamos em um período de transição. Temos que integrar muitos jogadores jovens no time e ainda temos que lidar com lesões e trazer jogadores de volta ao time.
“Antes que alguém pense em desculpas, não, temos que ganhar todos os jogos. Eu sei disso. O time sabe disso. Não importa quem está disponível.”
