ATLANTA — A ex-estrela de reality show Julie Chrisley está pedindo a um juiz de Atlanta que reduza em pelo menos dois anos sua pena de prisão por acusações de fraude bancária e sonegação fiscal, revelando publicamente pela primeira vez detalhes sobre sua prisão.
Chrisley, 51, deve ser sentenciada novamente na quarta-feira no tribunal federal de Atlanta. Sua sentença de sete anos de prisão, que começou em janeiro de 2023, foi anulada em junho pelo tribunal federal de apelações de Atlanta que questionou a extensão de seu envolvimento em um esquema de fraude bancária de US$ 36 milhões.
Chrisley pediu ao tribunal de primeira instância que impusesse uma nova sentença de não mais que cinco anos. Seus advogados disseram em um processo de 20 de setembro que ela tinha sido “uma detenta modelo” durante seu tempo em uma prisão de Kentucky, onde recebeu uma licença para operar uma empilhadeira e mais de 40 certificados por concluir vários programas.
“Desde o primeiro dia de sua prisão, a Sra. Chrisley trabalhou para se aprimorar como detenta e cidadã e está pronta para se reinserir perfeitamente na sociedade após sua libertação”, disseram seus advogados, Alex Little e Zachary Lawson. “Ela trabalhou continuamente durante seu tempo como detenta, incluindo na cantina, serviço de alimentação e lavanderia. Savannah Chrisley, 27, disse que tem cuidado de seus irmãos mais novos, Grayson, 18, e Chloe, 11. Ela disse em uma carta à juíza distrital dos EUA Eleanor L. Ross que os últimos dois anos foram “inimaginavelmente difíceis”.
“Eu imploro, Meritíssimo — por favor, mande minha mãe para casa”, escreveu Savannah Chrisley. “Eu amo Grayson e Chloe de todo o meu coração, mas não importa o quanto eu cuide deles, eu sei que nunca poderei verdadeiramente dar a eles o que sua mãe pode. Os advogados de Julie Chrisley disseram que sua mãe de 70 anos teve que sair da aposentadoria para cuidar do pai de Julie Chrisley, de 74 anos, que passou por uma grande cirurgia cardíaca.
Em uma carta ao tribunal, os pais de Julie Chrisley, Harvey e Pam Hughes, disseram que ela era a chefe da família e dava a todos força, apoio, propósito, direção e amor.
“Todos nós sentimos o impacto da ausência dela”, escreveram. “Todos nós precisamos dela de volta em casa, especialmente sua mãe e seu pai. Ela é a única criança que temos viva.”
Grayson Chrisley disse em uma carta ao tribunal que precisa de sua mãe, que é sua melhor amiga, mais do que nunca. Ele disse que ela perdeu sua aceitação na faculdade e sua primeira visita à faculdade, entre outras coisas.
“Os últimos dois anos da minha vida foram os mais difíceis da minha vida”, ele disse. “Minha irmã, Savannah, se levantou e cuidou de mim e da minha irmã, mas como tenho certeza de que você pode entender, não é a mesma coisa que ter sua mãe.”

Nós precisamos dela. Eu sinto a tensão todos os dias enquanto faço malabarismos para criá-los, lutar por justiça e liberdade para meus pais e tentar manter um teto sobre nossas cabeças. Como uma mulher solteira administrando uma casa com uma renda, muitas vezes parece que não importa o quanto eu trabalhe, nunca é o suficiente.”
Savannah Chrisley também detalhou o tratamento “de partir o coração” de sua mãe na prisão, dizendo que as condições são “desumanas, especialmente para as mulheres”. Ela disse que Julie Chrisley suportou uma viagem de 13 horas para Atlanta para comparecer à audiência de nova sentença, durante a qual ela enfrentou ter que “andar por um avião cheio de homens a vaiando só para usar o banheiro nos fundos”.
“Ela escolheu não comer ou beber durante toda a viagem, apenas para preservar a pouca dignidade que lhe restava”, disse Savannah Chrisley. “Desde então, ela foi transferida de instalação para instalação, com permissão para sair por apenas uma hora por dia.
