Dez pessoas foram acusadas de conexão com uma organização de tráfico de drogas no nordeste de Baltimore, informou o Ministério Público da cidade em um comunicado à imprensa.
A polícia começou a investigar um grupo chamado “4200” vendendo cocaína, heroína e fentanil perto do quarteirão 4300 da Belair Road em Belair-Parkside e do quarteirão 4200 da Nicholas Avenue em Belair-Edison em fevereiro, de acordo com um comunicado do gabinete do procurador do estado. Dois homens foram acusados de distribuição criminosa de heroína, cocaína e fentanil em junho, de acordo com as acusações. As acusações para a maioria dos réus não estavam disponíveis nos registros do tribunal na segunda-feira.
A polícia executou um mandado de busca em uma loja Royal Tobacco & Grocery na Belair Road e indiciou um balconista que morava em um apartamento acima do negócio, de acordo com o comunicado. Na loja, bem como em quatro casas próximas e casas no nordeste e leste de Baltimore, os policiais recuperaram nove armas, incluindo um rifle estilo AR, munição, 200 gramas de heroína e fentanil e 120 gramas de cocaína, de acordo com o comunicado. A polícia também revistou um apartamento em Gwynn Oak, no Condado de Baltimore, e encontrou cocaína e fentanil, de acordo com documentos judiciais.
“Esta investigação garantiu as acusações de 10 indivíduos que aterrorizavam a comunidade ao redor e colocavam em risco a segurança e o bem-estar de inúmeras famílias. A remoção é resultado de um esforço coordenado entre nosso escritório, a polícia, o governo da cidade e os membros da comunidade, todos comprometidos em remover drogas perigosas e criminosos de nossas ruas”, disse o procurador do estado Ivan Bates no comunicado.
