Uma mulher e um adolescente foram levados ao hospital depois que um carro colidiu com uma scooter em New Canaan na noite de quarta-feira.
Equipes de emergência responderam à chamada South Avenue, perto do cruzamento com a rampa de entrada norte da Merritt Parkway, pouco depois das 19h30, após o relato de um acidente automobilístico envolvendo um sedã e uma scooter Vespa, de acordo com o chefe de polícia Andrew Walsh do Departamento de Polícia de New Canaan.
Walsh disse que várias agências responderam ao acidente para ajudar, incluindo o Corpo de Bombeiros e o EMS de New Canaan, bem como o Departamento de Polícia de Stamford, a Polícia Estadual de Connecticut e a Equipe de Reconstrução de Acidentes da Polícia de Darien.
Uma investigação preliminar mostrou que o motorista de um sedã estava virando à esquerda na rampa sentido norte da Merritt Parkway, vindo da South Avenue, quando o veículo colidiu com a scooter, de acordo com Walsh.
Walsh disse que o operador da scooter, um garoto de 17 anos de Stamford, foi levado em uma ambulância para o Norwalk Hospital. A motorista do sedan, uma mulher de 53 anos de Danbury, também foi levada para o hospital.
O acidente continua sob investigação.
