Laramie, Wyoming. • Não foi o desempenho sólido que a BYU esperava contra um time em dificuldades do Wyoming.
Mas os Cougars ainda conseguiram uma vitória de 34 a 14 sobre seu antigo rival da conferência, no que pode ser sua última viagem ao War Memorial Stadium depois de 102 anos jogando um contra o outro.
O quarterback Jake Retzlaff teve um desempenho de 291 jardas. Sua linha de estatísticas mostrou três touchdowns e uma interceptação. Ele também teve 61 jardas no chão.
Mas a coluna de turnover poderia ter sido muito mais feia. Retzlaff lançou quatro passes no primeiro tempo que poderiam ter sido interceptados. Um foi derrubado por Wrook Brown, do Wyoming, sem um recebedor da BYU à vista. Outro poderia ter ido para um pick-six se um passe de tela não tivesse sido interceptado.
Retzlaff também teve pontos positivos. Ele teve nove passes de mais de 15 jardas. No final do terceiro quarto, ele montou um drive de pontuação quase sozinho. Ele correu por 28 jardas e então seguiu com um touchdown de 20 jardas para Darius Lassiter enquanto escapava da pressão.
Ele terminou com 22 de 36, com uma classificação de QB de 151.
Independentemente de qualquer coisa que a BYU tenha feito, qualquer noção de que Wyoming — agora 0-3, incluindo uma derrota em casa para o FCS Idaho — poderia ameaçar os Cougars foi rapidamente descartada.
Os Pokes não conseguiram um first down até 46 segundos restantes no primeiro quarto. O quarterback do Wyoming, Evan Svoboda, terminou 14 de 32 para menos de 150 jardas. Ele perdeu recebedores abertos quase a noite toda, enquanto o Wyoming mal passou de 200 jardas totais de ataque.

Mas os Cougars responderam com um field goal e um retorno de 100 jardas do kickoff para um touchdown de Keelan Marion. Isso abriu o jogo para uma vantagem de três pontos. Wyoming não teve ataque suficiente para voltar a isso.
