Um alerta de congelamento foi emitido pelo Serviço Meteorológico Nacional no domingo às 1h55, válido das 23h às 9h de segunda-feira para Grande Ronde Valley e condado de Wallowa.
O serviço meteorológico acrescenta: “Esperam-se temperaturas abaixo de zero, de até 29 graus”.
“As condições de geada e congelamento podem matar plantações, outras vegetações sensíveis e possivelmente danificar encanamentos externos desprotegidos”, afirma o serviço meteorológico. “Tome medidas agora para proteger as plantas tenras do frio.”
O que fazer se houver um alerta ou aviso de congelamento
Os avisos de congelamento são emitidos de maio a outubro (mas podem ser estendidos se necessário), quando as temperaturas baixas devem ser de 29 a 32 graus. Se houver potencial para que as temperaturas caiam dentro desses limites, um alerta de congelamento poderá ser emitido alguns dias antes.
De acordo com o serviço meteorológico, se um alerta ou alerta de congelamento for emitido para sua área, há pouco que você possa fazer para proteger as plantas.
