O Departamento de Polícia de North Las Vegas está pedindo a ajuda do público para localizar um motorista que, segundo as autoridades, estava envolvido em um acidente de atropelamento que deixou um pedestre gravemente ferido.
Segundo a polícia, o acidente ocorreu por volta da 1h40 da manhã de segunda-feira, perto da Martin Luther King Boulevard e da Craig Road.
A polícia disse que a investigação preliminar revelou que uma van estava viajando para o leste na terceira faixa de tráfego da Craig Road, se aproximando da Martin Luther King Boulevard, enquanto o pedestre estava atravessando para o sul na Martin Luther King Boulevard, cruzando a Craig Road.
O pedestre estava dentro de uma faixa de pedestres sinalizada quando a frente da van atingiu a pessoa, disse a polícia.
“Até o momento, não se sabe quem tinha a luz”, observaram as autoridades em um comunicado à imprensa.
A polícia disse que o motorista da van saiu do veículo e caminhou em direção ao pedestre. No entanto, o motorista então voltou a entrar no veículo e fugiu para o leste na Craig Road.
Com base nos destroços deixados no local, os investigadores de trânsito de North Las Vegas acreditam que a van seja possivelmente uma Nissan NV 200 2013-2018.
