Na semana passada, o craque português Cristiano Ronaldo atingiu a marca de 900 gols na carreira pelo clube e pela seleção aos 39 anos.
Kane é oito anos mais novo que Ronaldo e o atacante do Bayern de Munique diz que vê o ex-atacante do Manchester United e do Real Madrid como inspiração para saber até onde sua carreira pode chegar.
“Sinto-me em ótima forma, tanto física quanto mentalmente, no auge da minha carreira”, disse ele.
“Observando outros jogadores, Ronaldo marcando seu 901º gol [against Scotland on Sunday]vê-lo competir aos 39 anos me inspira a jogar o máximo de tempo possível.
“Eu amo esse jogo, amo representar a Inglaterra mais do que tudo e não quero que isso acabe tão cedo. Para mim, pessoalmente, agora é sobre continuar melhorando e ser consistente tanto com a camisa da Inglaterra quanto no nível do clube.
“Estou com fome de mais. Estou determinado a continuar ultrapassando os limites.”
O ex-atacante da Premier League Chris Sutton acredita que Kane pode continuar jogando pela Inglaterra por muitos mais anos.
“Posso vê-lo indo muito longe por uma série de razões”, disse Sutton no programa Monday Night Club da BBC Radio 5 ao vivo.
“Olhe para a Inglaterra no momento, quem tomará o lugar dele?
“Ele não tem um ritmo ótimo, mas é um artilheiro implacável e um jogador de futebol brilhante. Ele cria e marca. Ele é muito bom em ambos. Ele pode continuar por anos e anos.
“Com sua inteligência e a maneira como ele joga, acho que ele ainda estará por aqui por muito tempo.”
