De certa forma, a Toro ainda está se beneficiando do boom do golfe Tiger. De acordo com Funk, 20 a 25 anos é a vida útil típica de um sistema de irrigação de campo de golfe. Mas os campos que estão substituindo equipamentos se beneficiarão dos investimentos em tecnologia que a Toro fez em produtos de irrigação e em estratégia elétrica, conectada e autônoma.
Os sistemas de irrigação Lynx da Toro mantêm os superintendentes de campo e técnicos de irrigação mais informados e atualizados sobre seus sistemas com sistemas de computadores móveis e baseados em nuvem.
“Estamos trabalhando para tornar nossos sistemas de irrigação mais conectados com nossos equipamentos”, disse Funk. “Então você pode imaginar um estado futuro onde eles conversam entre si e o sistema de irrigação pode ligar ou desligar automaticamente conforme o equipamento se aproxima ou sai de uma área específica.”
Empresas de equipamentos e vestuário para golfe também estão se beneficiando do novo boom do golfe. Considere a Acushnet Holdings, uma empresa sediada em Massachusetts que possui duas grandes marcas de golfe, Titleist e FootJoy, esta última uma linha de calçados e roupas.
O consenso entre os analistas que cobrem a Acushnet é que sua receita anual crescerá para US$ 2,6 bilhões no ano fiscal de 2026, um aumento de 10,3% em relação à receita anual de US$ 2,3 bilhões de 2023.
“À medida que a população dos EUA envelhece, esperamos ver um crescimento sustentável nas rodadas jogadas, amplificado pelo crescimento de novos participantes, garantindo uma demanda constante por golfe (fabricantes de equipamentos originais) no futuro”, escreveu Randal Konik, analista do Jeffries Group, em uma nota recente sobre a Acushnet.
