Que horas são? É hora de uma reunião dos Wildcats!
No segundo dia da Convenção FanX de Cultura Pop e Quadrinhos em Salt Lake City, atores da amada trilogia do Disney Channel “High School Musical” se reuniram para um painel no qual relembraram seu tempo na série – grande parte da qual foi filmada pouco mais a cinco quilômetros de distância, na East High School.
O primeiro filme “High School Musical” foi lançado em 2006, com a sequência no ano seguinte, e o terceiro e último filme lançado em 2008. A nostalgia do Wildcat esteve presente em toda a sala na sexta-feira.
Corbin Bleu, que interpretou Chad Danforth, um dos seis personagens principais da série, liderou o painel com uma versão de seu icônico canto de hype do cinema, perguntando à multidão: “Qual time?”
A multidão, cheia de fãs que usavam produtos de “High School Musical” ou vestiam vermelho do East High, respondeu em voz alta: “Wildcats!”
Bleu reconheceu que muitos espectadores cresceram com a série.
“Faz parte da nossa infância também”, disse ele.
Bleu foi acompanhado por outros atores Lucas Grabeel (que interpretou Ryan Evans), Bart Johnson (que interpretou Jack Bolton, o pai de Troy Bolton e treinador de basquete) e KayCee Stroh (que interpretou Martha Cox).
Durante o painel de perguntas e respostas, o público fez diversas perguntas aos atores. Um jovem fã perguntou aos atores sobre suas primeiras impressões dos sets de “High School Musical”.
“Salt Lake City é agora o lar de uma das escolas secundárias mais emblemáticas, e é uma verdadeira escola secundária”, disse Bleu, referindo-se à East High. “Lembro-me de caminhar pessoalmente até aquele campus e ficar chocado, porque é realmente impressionante. É lindo.”
A série foi filmada em diferentes locais do estado, embora o colégio seja o mais conhecido e continue recebendo visitantes e fãs.
Em 2019, uma série de mockumentary spin-off chamada “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series”, estreou na Disney em uma homenagem à série de filmes original, e também foi filmada na East High School. A série ajudou Olivia Rodrigo a lançar sua carreira como sensação pop.
Bleu disse que quando voltou a East High para a série spin-off, ele não tinha voltado desde as filmagens dos filmes originais. “Entrando naquele ginásio imediatamente, apenas lágrimas começaram a inundar meus olhos…”, disse ele.
Ao longo do painel, os atores acenaram com a cabeça para coisas pelas quais seus personagens icônicos eram conhecidos, como Garbeel fazendo o aquecimento de voz que seu personagem Ryan faz e Johnson repetindo seu icônico “O que diabos esses dois estão fazendo em uma árvore?” linha.
Os atores também elogiaram o diretor Kenny Ortega, principalmente por trazer de volta os musicais para a Disney, e falaram sobre o que significa fazer parte desta série de filmes.
“As interações dos fãs são tudo, especialmente para mim, eu não cresci vendo pessoas que se pareciam comigo na TV”, disse Stroh. Ela também disse que recebeu uma carta de uma fã: “Muito obrigada por mostrar a todos nós que o talento não tem tamanho de cintura ou tamanho de vestido”.
Os atores também falaram sobre suas músicas favoritas da série. Bleu disse que a sua é “I Don’t Dance” e destacou que as origens da música vão além da série de filmes da Disney.
Bleu apontou para o ícone da música Frank Sinatra e disse que quando Sinatra entrou em cena pela primeira vez, ele sabia cantar, mas não dançar. Sinatra acabou aprendendo com Gene Kelly, disse Bleu.
“[Kelly] disse: ‘Encontre-me no campo de beisebol’, então Frank Sinatra e Gene Kelly foram a um campo de beisebol e, por meio de movimentos de beisebol, Gene Kelly ensinou Frank Sinatra a dançar”, disse Bleu.
Stroh disse que sua música favorita é “All For One”, enquanto Johnson nomeou “Now or Never”, por causa de sua frase no meio da música e monólogo anterior.
Grabeel disse que agora que o tempo passou, sua faixa favorita é “You Are the Music in Me”.
“Vocês carregaram esta tocha e mantiveram este projeto vivo”, disse ele. “’You are the Music in Me’ descreve o que sinto por todos vocês, e com tantos detalhes. Eu amo essa música muito mais agora do que antes, e é por causa de todos vocês.”
