O ganhador do sorteio de US$ 1,13 bilhão da Mega Millions continua desconhecido dos funcionários da loteria seis meses após o dia em que os números vencedores foram sorteados.
Os funcionários da loteria sabem que o bilhete de um bilhão de dólares foi vendido por uma loja de bebidas Neptune Township ShopRite no dia do sorteio. O ganhador do bilhete único tem mais seis meses para se apresentar e pode fazê-lo anonimamente.
O site da Loteria de Nova Jersey publicou um lembrete na quinta-feira, na esperança de chamar a atenção do potencial bilionário, que pode não estar ciente de sua boa sorte.
“Hoje, seis meses após o sorteio, o prêmio continua sem ser reclamado”, diz o aviso. “O valor em dinheiro do bilhete é estimado em US$ 537,5 milhões.”
Esse total reflete o que o ganhador levaria para casa após os impostos se escolhesse um pagamento único. Se ninguém se apresentar, os ganhos serão devolvidos aos 45 estados participantes que vendem bilhetes da Mega Millions para serem reaproveitados de diferentes maneiras, de acordo com as regras do concurso.
As chances de acertar os números da sorte no bilhete não reclamado eram de 1 em 302,6 milhões. A loja da Route 66 que vendeu o bilhete ganha US$ 30.000 por seus esforços. Que a ShopRite doa sua parte dos ganhos para o banco de alimentos Fulfill, em Jersey Shore, de acordo com a Associated Press.
