O American Liberty Forum de Ramona está organizando um fórum de candidatos que inclui apresentações e uma sessão de perguntas e respostas neste sábado em Ramona.
As portas para o evento gratuito de 28 de setembro serão abertas às 11h e o fórum começa ao meio-dia no teatro Ramona Mainstage, 626 Main St.
Os candidatos que planejam participar incluem Andrew Hayes, que está competindo contra Carl DeMaio na disputa pelo 75º distrito da Assembleia estadual; e o titular Joel Anderson, que está competindo contra Gina Jacobs na disputa pelo 2º distrito do Conselho de Supervisores do condado.
A atual administradora da Área 3 do Conselho Escolar do Distrito Escolar Unificado de Ramona, Dawn Perfect, que está concorrendo contra a desafiante Stephanie Cooter; e a atual administradora da Área 4, Daryn Drum, que está competindo contra o desafiante John Rajcic, também devem participar.
Os candidatos sem oposição que devem participar são o vice-presidente Jeff Lawler da Divisão 1 e o secretário Jim Piva da Divisão 3 do Ramona Municipal Water District.
Não se espera que candidatos e titulares do Ramona Community Planning Group compareçam, pois há oito candidatos que preencherão automaticamente oito vagas.
O moderador do fórum de candidatos será Dan Summers, morador de Ramona há 38 anos e presidente da ALFOR.
Summers disse que os convites para apresentações e respostas a perguntas do público foram enviados apenas a representantes e potenciais representantes da Ramona.
Ele acrescentou que pode ser desafiador atrair candidatos para Ramona quando eles geralmente têm públicos maiores nos territórios que pretendem representar.
“Eles podem ir para El Cajon ou North Park ou Rancho Bernardo e ter uma grande multidão e um impacto maior do que podem na pequena e velha Ramona”, disse Summers, observando que é importante que os eleitores sejam informados sobre os candidatos antes de decidir quem eles querem que os represente. “É compreensível, não levamos para o lado pessoal.”
No início do programa, uma breve apresentação sobre a Constituição dos EUA será feita por Deborah Flook, moradora de Ramona, que dá palestras sobre o documento nos Estados Unidos.
