O cornerback novato dos Ravens, Nate Wiggins, retornou aos treinos de forma limitada na quinta-feira pela primeira vez em mais de uma semana.
A escolha do draft de primeira rodada de 2024 se envolveu recentemente em um acidente de carro no qual sofreu uma lesão no pescoço e uma concussão. A antiga estrela de Clemson ainda está no protocolo de concussão de cinco etapas da liga e estava usando uma camisa vermelha sem contato na quinta-feira.
Na semana passada, o técnico dos Ravens, John Harbaugh, disse que Wiggins está “bem, ele está saudável”, mas ele perdeu a derrota de domingo para o Las Vegas Raiders.
“Foi bom ver Nate de volta, cara”, disse o coordenador defensivo Zach Orr. “Planejamos ter Nate e Nate fazendo grandes coisas para nós este ano. Achei que ele parecia bem lá fora para um cara que não treina há um minuto. Achei que ele se moveu muito bem e estava em sintonia com o que estávamos tentando fazer na defesa.”
A única adição de Baltimore ao relatório de lesões foi o linebacker externo David Ojabo, que foi um participante limitado com uma lesão no quadríceps. Ojabo perdeu quase toda a temporada passada com um ACL rompido e anteriormente rompeu seu tendão de Aquiles em seu dia profissional antes do draft de 2022. Ele registrou um sack na derrota de abertura da temporada para o Kansas City Chiefs, mas jogou apenas 47% dos snaps defensivos até agora.
A lista de ausentes dos treinos dos Ravens foi muito menor na quinta-feira. Harbaugh previu que seria esse o caso, dizendo na quarta-feira que o relatório de lesões lotado “não foi nada importante”.
Isso é um alívio para um time tentando evitar cair para 0-3 pela segunda vez em seus 29 anos de existência. O primeiro passo para responder se eles podem superar um começo tão prejudicial vem no domingo contra o Dallas Cowboys em Arlington, Texas.
O safety All-Pro Kyle Hamilton retornou ao campo após perder um dia com uma lesão nas costas, mas estava limitado. O left tackle Ronnie Stanley (tornozelo) e o linebacker Kyle Van Noy (olho/virilha) voltaram à participação total na quinta-feira.
Harbaugh disse na quarta-feira que, apesar da ausência de Stanley, o veterano de 30 anos jogará no domingo, o que é uma boa notícia para uma linha ofensiva em dificuldades. Van Noy sofreu uma fratura óssea orbital na derrota da Semana 1 para os Chiefs, mas foi liberado para jogar na manhã antes de enfrentar os Raiders.
O wide receiver e especialista em retorno Deonte Harty foi um participante limitado na quarta e quinta-feira por causa de uma lesão na panturrilha. Motivos pessoais mantiveram o cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis e o guard reserva Sala Aumavae-Laulu fora na quarta-feira, mas Armour-Davis retornou na quinta-feira.
Dallas também conseguiu que alguns jogadores importantes voltassem aos treinos.
O wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (tornozelo) e o cornerback Trevon Diggs (pé) foram limitados na quinta-feira após serem listados como não participantes na quarta-feira. O tight end Jake Ferguson, que sofreu uma lesão no joelho na abertura da temporada dos Cowboys, treinou na quinta-feira com uma faixa em volta da perna esquerda, de acordo com repórteres.
Por outro lado, o defensive tackle Mazi Smith, uma escolha de primeira rodada de 2023, supostamente teve suas costas tensas e não conseguiu treinar nos últimos dois dias. Ele foi a única ausência dos Cowboys, mas uma significativa considerando suas dificuldades no interior da linha defensiva.
O wide receiver Brandin Cooks (descanso), o linebacker Eric Kendricks (descanso), o defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence (descanso), o cornerback Jourdan Lewis (descanso) e o guard Zack Martin (descanso/joelho) foram todos listados como participantes completos. O safety Malik Hooker (ombro) foi limitado pelo segundo dia consecutivo.
