Um sistema de baixa pressão deve atingir o Condado de San Diego na manhã de segunda-feira, produzindo um clima mais frio e possivelmente chuvas leves e esporádicas, especialmente nos vales do interior e nas montanhas, disse o Serviço Nacional de Meteorologia.
Também é provável que o sistema gere ventos com rajadas de mais de 50 mph na tarde e noite de segunda-feira ao longo da Interestadual 8 oriental, perto da divisa dos condados de San Diego e Imperial. Os ventos podem levar a condições perigosas de direção.
O sistema afetará amplamente o sul da Califórnia, auxiliando os bombeiros que combatem incêndios nos condados de Orange, Riverside e Los Angeles.
A máxima diurna de San Diego na segunda-feira será de 70, o que é 7 graus abaixo da média sazonal. O resfriamento será parcialmente influenciado pela camada marinha, que pode ter até 6.000 pés de profundidade ou cerca de 3 vezes mais profunda do que normalmente fica nesta época do ano.
Os meteorologistas disseram que a umidade será maior no interior, notavelmente em lugares como Alpine e Ramona, e em Mount Laguna e possivelmente Palomar Mountain. A vegetação nessas áreas está muito mais seca do que o normal, elevando o risco de incêndios florestais.
O Aeroporto Internacional de San Diego registrou 12,41 polegadas de chuva durante o ano hidrológico, que se estende de 1º de outubro a 30 de setembro. Isso é 2,70 polegadas acima do normal. A umidade costeira de segunda-feira não deve ser significativa.
