Um homem de 25 anos que morreu em um estacionamento de Mission Valley na manhã de quinta-feira pode ter sido agredido pouco antes da chegada dos paramédicos, disse a polícia de San Diego.
A polícia recebeu um relato por volta das 7h25 de um homem inconsciente no estacionamento do supermercado Food 4 Less na Hazard Center Drive, perto da Frazee Road, disse o tenente da polícia de San Diego, Lou Maggi, em um comunicado à imprensa.
Os paramédicos inicialmente acreditaram que o homem teve uma overdose com base nos itens que viram no local, disse Maggi. Eles começaram a administrar os primeiros socorros, mas o homem morreu antes de ser levado ao hospital.
Durante a investigação, Maggi disse que os patrulheiros desenvolveram informações que os levaram a acreditar que o homem possivelmente foi agredido antes que a polícia fosse chamada.
Detetives de homicídios foram chamados ao local para ajudar nas investigações. O Gabinete do Examinador Médico do condado determinará a causa da morte.

Maggi disse que os detetives estão examinando evidências físicas e procurando imagens de vigilância do incidente.
