O Miami Dolphins está mudando de zagueiro na semana 4 e começará com Tyler “Snoop” Huntley, disse o técnico Mike McDaniel no sábado.
“Snoop sabe o que é necessário para conquistar companheiros de equipe e liderar pessoas”, disse McDaniel. “Estávamos muito bem com Snoop, alto o suficiente para dar a ele uma vaga no 53º lugar.”
Esperava-se que Huntley fosse titular no confronto “Monday Night Football” dos Dolphins contra o Tennessee Titans depois que Miami o contratou do time de treino do Baltimore Ravens há uma semana. Os Dolphins trouxeram Huntley para mais profundidade na sala do quarterback, atrás de Skylar Thompson, após a concussão de Tua Tagovailoa.
Tagaovailoa sofreu sua terceira concussão em três anos em uma derrota na semana 2 para o Buffalo Bills e não há cronograma para seu retorno. Thompson começou na derrota da semana 3 para o Seattle Seahawks, mas saiu com uma lesão na costela no final do jogo. Ele esteve limitado nos treinos esta semana e Tim Boyle servirá como reserva de Huntley na segunda-feira.
Huntley, 26, passou as primeiras quatro temporadas de sua carreira com os Ravens como reserva do quarterback Lamar Jackson. Huntley teve nove inícios de carreira, incluindo uma última temporada.
Ele assinou com o Cleveland Browns como agente livre em março, mas a equipe o dispensou no final de agosto em meio a cortes no elenco. Baltimore então trouxe Huntley de volta como membro do time de treino.
