Uma mulher de 47 anos de Las Vegas morreu após ser atropelada por um veículo perto da Área de Conservação Nacional do Red Rock Canyon, de acordo com a Patrulha Rodoviária de Nevada.
O acidente ocorreu por volta das 19h30 de terça-feira na Rota 159, perto do marcador de milha 9, entre Blue Diamond e West Charleston Boulevard, de acordo com um comunicado à imprensa.
Ann Kathleen Simmons morreu no local após ser atingida por um Toyota Scion cinza 2006 que seguia para o norte na Rota 159.
Simmons caminhava para o sul no acostamento leste e entrou na faixa de rodagem no caminho do Toyota, disse a polícia.
O motorista do Toyota permaneceu no local e cooperou com os policiais.
A investigação está sendo conduzida pela Patrulha Rodoviária da Polícia Estadual de Nevada – Unidade de Homicídios de Trânsito.
Este ano, o Comando Sul da Patrulha Rodoviária da Polícia Estadual de Nevada investigou 50 acidentes fatais, resultando em 58 mortes.
