Previsões ousadas
1. O quarterback Andy Dalton lançará por pelo menos 245 jardas para os Panthers. Foi essa a quantidade de jardas de passe que a escolha geral nº 1 de 2023, Bryce Young, teve nos dois primeiros jogos da Carolina.
2. O quarterback Gardner Minshew, que foi demitido nove vezes nos dois primeiros jogos dos Raiders, não será demitido no domingo.
3. O running back Zamir White, que não teve uma corrida de mais de 12 jardas nesta temporada, vai quebrar uma corrida que ganhe pelo menos 15 jardas no primeiro quarto. Ele também terá mais de 20 corridas no jogo.

Os Raiders entrarão em campo para a estreia em casa se sentindo bem após a vitória de virada da semana passada em Baltimore.
A vitória deu ao time uma vantagem nos dois primeiros jogos fora de casa, permitindo que ele voltasse sua atenção para uma série de confrontos possíveis de vencer no mês seguinte.
Essa sequência favorável começa no domingo contra um time dos Panthers que deve ser considerado o pior da NFL até agora. Carolina já colocou Young no banco em favor de um viajante de 36 anos em Dalton.
Isso significa que a pressão está sobre os Raiders para chegar a 2-1. Uma derrota acabaria com o bom trabalho que eles fizeram na semana passada para colocar sua temporada de volta nos trilhos.
Quando os Panthers têm a bola
Dalton não é exatamente um All-Pro nesta fase de sua carreira, mas ele deve ser capaz de dar um pouco de vida ao ataque dos Panthers. Young pareceu sobrecarregado nos dois primeiros jogos da Carolina.
O desafio para os Raiders é prever o quão diferente o ataque dos Panthers será no domingo. Dalton deve ser capaz de tirar vantagem de armas como o wide receiver Diontae Johnson e o novato Xavier Legette no jogo de passes. O jogo de corrida da Carolina também pode parecer muito melhor do que nas duas primeiras semanas se Dalton impedir que o time caia em um buraco no início.
Os Panthers devem favorecer o lado direito quando correrem, já que o center Austin Corbett, o right guard Robert Hunt e o right tackle Taylor Moton estão tendo um bom começo.
Quando os Raiders têm a bola
A recuperação dos Raiders contra os Ravens começou quando eles praticamente abandonaram o jogo corrido e começaram a lançar em quase todas as descidas.
Ainda assim, essa não é a identidade que o técnico Antonio Pierce quer para seu time. Ele e o coordenador ofensivo Luke Getsy querem fazer o ataque terrestre dos Raiders rolar. Eles deveriam ter a chance de fazer isso contra o Carolina.
Os Panthers permitiram 199,5 jardas de corrida por jogo em duas semanas, o segundo maior número na NFL. Um dos principais motivos para isso é a perda do defensive tackle Derrick Brown, que sofreu uma lesão no joelho que encerrou a temporada na abertura do time contra o Saints. Brown estabeleceu um recorde de tackles por um defensive lineman no ano passado, com 103.
Sua ausência deve facilitar a vida da linha ofensiva dos Raiders. Espere que White receba a bola cedo e frequentemente, o que pode ajudar a abrir o jogo de passes de ação de jogo do time.
