Certa noite, pouco depois do falecimento de nossa mãe, meus irmãos e eu estávamos mexendo em alguns de seus pertences e nos deparamos com uma correspondência entre ela e nosso padrasto, escrita antes de se casarem. Minha irmã e eu começamos a colocá-los em ordem cronológica e nos revezamos na leitura em voz alta. O conteúdo era picante (o comportamento deles era um tanto brincalhão!).
Nosso irmão tapou os ouvidos, alegando que sua mãe nunca se comportaria daquela maneira! Minha irmã e eu, por outro lado, estávamos rindo e encantados ao saber desses detalhes íntimos e românticos dos primeiros dias de seu relacionamento. Os olhos da minha filha (adulta) estavam esbugalhados, mas lembrei-lhe que a avó já teve a idade dela, assim como eu!
Meu conselho é valorizar essas memórias preciosas e preservá-las para seus filhos e netos. Quanto a nós, digitalizamos as cartas para o arquivo digital da nossa família para que estejam disponíveis para as gerações futuras.

Caro Justo: Obrigado por compartilhar. Nem todas as pessoas se sentem confortáveis pensando nos pais como seres sexuais. Se sua mãe era tão “brincadeira” quanto as cartas revelavam, espero que você as tenha rotulado de “classificadas para menores” para que não choquem mais membros de sua família.
