O ex-presidente Trump superou a vice-presidente Kamala Harris por uma margem de 48%-47% em uma nova pesquisa nacional Quinnipiac sobre a disputa pela Casa Branca.
A pesquisa, que foi considerada ineficaz mesmo quando avaliada como uma disputa direta, é uma rara boa notícia para Trump em meio a uma série de pesquisas que mostraram, em sua maioria, o democrata abrindo uma ligeira vantagem desde o debate de duas semanas atrás.
Faltando 41 dias para o dia da eleição, a pesquisa representa uma suposta mudança em direção ao candidato republicano depois que a última pesquisa Quinnipiac mostrou Harris com uma pequena vantagem no mês passado, talvez sinalizando um aumento no entusiasmo por Trump.
“Todos os olhos estão voltados para qual candidato pode atiçar melhor o entusiasmo de seus apoiadores até a linha de chegada”, disse Tim Malloy, analista de pesquisas da Quinnipiac. “Uma ligeira mudança sugere que a multidão de Harris não está rugindo tão alto quanto no mês passado.”
A pesquisa saiu no mesmo dia de uma pesquisa da CNN que mostrou Harris com uma liderança nacional de 1%. Outras pesquisas nacionais nos últimos dias mostraram Harris com uma liderança um pouco maior.
A pesquisa Quinnipiac deu a Trump números de aprovação um pouco melhores e também descobriu que mais eleitores confiam nele para lidar com a economia e se importar com eleitores como eles.
“A batalha Harris-Trump para garantir aos eleitores que eles estão ao seu lado é tão acirrada quanto possível e reflete a corrida de cavalos”, disse Malloy.
Por uma margem de mais de 2-1, os eleitores disseram que queriam ver um segundo debate entre os dois candidatos depois que Harris foi amplamente considerada a vencedora do primeiro confronto em 10 de setembro.
Harris diz que quer debater com Trump novamente, mas ele diz que não participará, alegando que venceu o primeiro, apesar da opinião popular.
Com todas as pesquisas mostrando uma disputa acirrada, a maioria dos pesquisadores admite que a batalha mais importante é pelos sete estados-chave que provavelmente determinarão o vencedor.
Harris pode garantir 270 votos eleitorais vencendo os três estados do “Muro Azul”: Pensilvânia, Wisconsin e Michigan, mesmo que perca as disputas pelo cinturão do Cinturão do Sol, que incluem Geórgia, Carolina do Norte, Arizona e Nevada.
Trump precisaria vencer os quatro estados do Sul e vencer uma das disputas do Rust Belt, provavelmente a Pensilvânia.
Sua tarefa complicada foi destacada pela última pesquisa da Quinnipiac sobre os estados do muro azul, mostrando Harris estreitamente à frente em todos os três. Ela também detém uma estreita liderança nas médias de pesquisa de Nevada.
